Selenergy (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other relevant laws regarding personal information protection. The Company establishes a Personal Information Processing Policy in accordance with applicable laws to protect the rights and interests of customers, website users, and other “data subjects.”
Through its Personal Information Processing Policy, the Company informs data subjects about how and for what purposes their personal information is processed, as well as the measures taken to protect such information. If the Company revises its Personal Information Processing Policy, it will notify such changes via announcements on the Selenergy website (or individual notices).
The Company places great importance on the personal information of customers and website users (www.selenergy.kr) and makes every effort to protect it. Accordingly, the Company strictly complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other relevant regulations.

The items of personal information of data subjects collected by the company are as follows, and the personal information items in item 2 below may be automatically generated and collected during the use of the website.

  • Required items: Name, email address

  • Optional items: Location (city, province), phone number (contact), country name, company name

    2. Service analysis and service quality improvement: Automatically generated and collected during internet service usage​

  • Service usage records, access logs, cookies, access IP information

    3. Recruitment screening/decision

  • General information: Name (Korean/Chinese characters/English), date of birth, gender, photo, password, home phone number, home address, mobile phone number, email, education, military service (completion status, service period, branch, rank), language ability, qualifications, veteran status, career, social experience, research experience

  • Sensitive information: Disability status and type/degree of disability

 

03. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The company collects the personal information of data subjects for the following purposes:

  1. Customer-related

  • Complaint/grievance handling: Confirmation of complaint matters, contact/notification for fact-checking, notification of handling results, etc.

    2. Recruitment-related

  • Recruitment screening/decision: Identification and real-name verification, recruitment screening and contact with applicants, reference for recruitment in relation to relevant laws such as the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State and the Act on the Employment Promotion of Persons with Disabilities

 

04. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information

  1. Complaint/grievance handling

  • Retained items: Name, email address, location (city, province), phone number (contact), country, affiliated company

  • Retention period: 1 year

    2. Recruitment screening/decision

  • Retained items: Name (Korean/Chinese characters/English), photo, password, home phone number, home address, mobile phone number, email, education, military service (completion status, service period, branch, rank), language ability, qualifications, veteran status, career, social experience, research experience, disability status and type/degree of disability among sensitive information

  • Retention period:

    • For non-recruited persons: With consent for the period, up to 5 years after the end of the recruitment process (for the purpose of managing potential future hiring resources after registering in the recruitment site talent database)

    • For recruited persons: With consent for the period, until the achievement of the purpose of use

 

05. Procedures and Methods for Destroying Personal Information

  1. Destruction procedures
    The company will destroy personal information within 5 days from the end date of the retention and use period, and if the purpose of processing the personal information has been achieved, the relevant service is abolished, or the business is terminated, thereby rendering the personal information unnecessary, the company will destroy the personal information within 5 days from the date it is deemed unnecessary.

  2. Destruction methods

  • Printed materials, documents, etc. containing personal information: Shredding or incineration

  • Electronic file format: Permanent deletion by a method that makes recovery impossible

 

06. Installation/Operation and Refusal of Devices that Automatically Collect Personal Information

The company does not operate ‘cookies’ that store and retrieve the information of data subjects from time to time. Cookies are small pieces of information that a server operating a website sends to the browser of the data subject, and are not stored on the hard disk of the data subject’s computer.

 

07. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

In accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act and Article 28 of the Information and Communications Network Act, the company takes the following technical, managerial, and physical measures necessary to ensure the security of personal information.

  1. Minimization of personnel handling personal information

  • The company minimizes the authority of personnel handling personal information for its protection.

    2. Regular training for personnel handling personal information

  • The company conducts regular training to raise awareness of personal information protection.

    3. Regular internal inspections

  • The company conducts regular internal inspections to ensure the safety of personal information processing.

    4. Establishment and implementation of internal management plans

  • The company establishes and manages internal management plans for the safe handling and management of personal information.

    5. Access control for unauthorized persons

  • The company has a separate physical storage location for storing personal information and has established and operates access control procedures for it.

 

However, the company is not responsible for incidents caused by the mistakes of the data subject or the inherent risks of the internet.

09. Notification in Case of Revision of Privacy Policy

If there is any addition, deletion, or modification to the contents of this Privacy Policy, the company will notify the reason and details of the change through the website before implementation.
